My interest in ecology emerged during my first attempts to manage chronic pain through hiking. Exercise is a useful way to temper the physically and spiritually draining effects of chronic pain, and hiking is particularly therapeutic, both physically and spiritually. Herein lies a record of my experience living with chronic pain; photos of the life forms I encounter while hiking; and commentary on issues of both pain and ecology. Though these may seem disparate topics, they each contribute to my journey towards understanding and living well in my own context.
Incidentally, I often take photos of things I want to learn more about, and the first step in learning about them is identifying them. Please, if you know your way around flora and fauna like I don't, let me know if I get anything wrong.
